- Over the last year, we have acquired a number of USR Courier V.Everything
- modems. Product types of all modems are "Netherlands External MSK".
-
- Recently acquired modems are of a different type. They can be recognized
- by the different power supply, which has only one instead of four pins.
-
- I have been unable to download any FLASH ROM code to these newer type
- modems. I have tried SDL_31.EXE and SDLPALLA.EXE, which I downloaded from
- ftp.usr.com.
-
- The program fails with the message "ERROR(15) Handshake failed".
-
- I have tried to lower the baud rate to 9600 and I did use the suggested
- dip switch settings for downloading. Still, the new type modems would
- fail and the old type modem would succeed using the same PC & cable.
-
- One of the primary reasons to buy this product was its V34+ feature.
- This feature, however, cannot be used until after a firmware download.
-
- Has anyone else encountered this problem ? Is there a fix somewhere ?
-
- Regards,
- Pim
