  11. Over the last year, we have acquired a number of USR Courier V.Everything
  12. modems. Product types of all modems are "Netherlands External MSK".
  13.  
  14. Recently acquired modems are of a different type. They can be recognized
  15. by the different power supply, which has only one instead of four pins.
  16.  
  17. I have been unable to download any FLASH ROM code to these newer type
  18. modems. I have tried SDL_31.EXE and SDLPALLA.EXE, which I downloaded from
  19. ftp.usr.com.

  21. The program fails with the message "ERROR(15) Handshake failed".

  23. I have tried to lower the baud rate to 9600 and I did use the suggested
  24. dip switch settings for downloading. Still, the new type modems would
  25. fail and the old type modem would succeed using the same PC & cable.

  27. One of the primary reasons to buy this product was its V34+ feature.
  28. This feature, however, cannot be used until after a firmware download.
  29.  
  30. Has anyone else encountered this problem ? Is there a fix somewhere ?
